EATING OUT
You might think that being semi-rural your evening meal would be a problem - well don’t worry!

The Sportsman Inn is but a stones throw away and they serve food from Tuesday to Sunday.

Also close-by is the superb 16th century Shibden Mill Inn with a choice of bar meals or a la carte dining in the restaurant (booking is advisable). If walking bear in mind that although only a few minutes away the hill to Shibden Mill is very steep and somewhat challenging. A drive to the Inn is just a couple of minutes - but do be careful, it is steep, narrow, winding and cobbled (but well worth the trip).

We also offer our guests an in-house information pack covering a varied choice of local eating establishments from Mongolian Wok (burn the ceiling stir fry) to French, Italian, Thai and Indian, among others.

Hopefully, Karen and I may well decide to offer an evening meal - choice is always a good thing! However, it may have to wait until 2009 - but watch this space!

YORKSHIRE HOSPITALITY

Verses 4 & 5 of 5 © 2007 George Crowther

All this, and I fear more change
The moors grow wilder with wind and rain
the valleys lose their life within
No more cattle to be seen
the work and people have all changed too
What can we Yorkshire folk do?

Alas with change there comes a light
so special on Ilkley Moor
And for all those who visit this beautiful place
or Haworth or the Yorkshire Dales
or Ploughcroft Cottage with Karen & George
You’ll be treated special for sure!
